Aspiration Coordinator - Miss H Trott
We recognise that providing our students with the correct information, advice and guidance (IAG) is crucial in supporting them to make the right choices. We want all our students, no matter what their starting point, to have the opportunity to explore, believe and achieve a bright, happy and successful future. As a result our school careers aim is to ensure:
All students will by fully equipped with the knowledge and life skills required to choose, secure and succeed in positive future destinations.
At the heart of our approach are three key questions designed to get students truly thinking about what they want to achieve over their lifetime, what they are going to do when they leave Kings to help them get there and what they can start doing now to make sure this can happen.
Our approach is cross-curricular with opportunities to explore different careers within departments, through visiting speakers, business links, work experience and a comprehensive PSHE program. A number of our students are supported through a business mentoring scheme with Surrey SATRO and we have strong links with Surrey University. We employ a dedicated Careers Advisory Service who work with students in small groups and on a 1:1 basis.
Supporting all of this is our use of a dedicated careers website: U-Explore which can be accessed and used by parents and the surrounding community as well as our students. Each person can set up their own user account to explore opportunities. Click here for help registering.
