The importance of the transition from KS2 to KS3 cannot be underestimates. We plan this process in close partnership with our feeder primary schools to ensure that students feel fully prepared, emotionally, socially and academically for the exciting challenge ahead. We begin this process with our regular presence at our partner primary schools through KS2 and with many opportunities for our primary students and parents to visit Kings.
Kings College has an extensive and thorough induction programme for new students. There are increased liaison activities in Year 6 culminating in our new students spending two days with us in July, when they are formally introduced to our school community. This is followed by a meeting at which parents and students are given the opportunity to meet the Principal and other members of staff. At the start of the Autumn Term, Year 7 return to school ahead of other students so that they can become fully confident in finding their way around. All year 7 students participate in a comprehensive induction programme which continues up to the half term break.
"Amy really enjoyed her day yesterday at Kings. She came home full of everything she had learnt during the day and said how much fun she had had. I would like to thank the staff for organising such great orientation days"
