Wilson Jones Catering have been looking after the catering services at Kings College for the past 6 years and in November 2011 their contract was renewed for a further term following a competitive tender process which included students in Year 7 and the Sixth Form as part of the interview panel.
The catering team work hard to produce a wide range of excellent food, most of which is freshly cooked on site and wherever possible is sourced from local suppliers.
The lunch service consists of freshly prepared hot dinners and pudding, pasta bar, salad bar and ready-made sandwiches as well as a range of homemade cakes and cookies all of which are compliant with current standards for school dinners.
The selection of food on offer constantly changes with menus on a 3 week cycle providing a wide variety for students and staff. Promotions and theme days are often run to mark special events and these are promoted in the College.
The Café operate a biometric cashless system which ensures queues are kept to a minimum and parents are able to top up student’s accounts on-line using Parent Pay.
