Sixth Form

Our Mission Statement

At Kings, we run an inclusive Sixth Form that values both academic and vocational courses.  We offer a range of A Level and Level 3 BTEC subjects which cater for a wide range of students' needs.

We have a Common Room that has been exclusively developed for our Sixth Form students. This allows time to relax before the school day starts and a place to enjoy brunch and lunch away from the bustle of the main school.  We also have a well-resourced study room which includes computer access for our Sixth Form students to take advantage of around timetabled lessons.

A unique aspect of our student support programme is to ensure each of our students attends a one-to-one support session with their Mentor every Module.  These sessions are designed to focus on a range of issues, from course selection to carrers advice.

Sixth Form students are issued with a Progress Card every Module to track, monitor and provide feedback on current performance in each subject they study.  The Progress Cards are designed to suppport our students throughout their time in Kings Sixth Form. 

Our Four Aims

  • To educate in a way that is challenging, stimulating, rigorous and enjoyable.  Each and every learner will realise their own personal academic potential within an environment that ensures close personal support and monitoring.
  • To support learners on their own learning pathways via an individualised careers programme that ensures they are given every support in planning their chosen route before, during and after joining our Sixth Form.  Opportunities could follow into university, into further education or into fulfilling employment.
  • To develop learners with a pastoral programme that fosters a culture of high aspiration, learning, attainment, personal development within an environment that supports learners leading a healthy lifestyle and remaining safe
  • To equip the whole person for both the present and future with a dedicated programme of opportunities for learners.  Kings will grow and nurture the skills that will enable learners to contribute to meeting their future challenges in a continually changing world.
