GOLD AWARD FOR EFFORT
The Gold Award for Effort in Art is:
Layla Harris - Joining the Art course late, Layla showed exceptional commitment to catching up. She has impressed both of her art teachers through her huge dedication and enthusiasm. Layla always does her best and strives to improve on what she has done.
The Gold Award for Effort in English is:
Rebecca Sinfield - When students struggle with a subject, the easy option is to coast or hope for the best. Becky has done neither of these things in English. She meets the challenge head on and works consistently hard, improving her own chances of success, but also guiding others towards a similar work ethic.
The Gold Award for Effort in Performing Arts is:
Kieran Luxton - Kieran is a born performer. He has a passion and talent for the Performing Arts and he is always keen to improve and push himself in all disciplines. He is a committed and excellent GCSE Drama student who is always involved heavily in Performing Arts with in the school, playing some memorable lead roles in our school productions. Kieran is a credit to the Performing Arts at kings College.
The Gold Award for Effort in Technology is:
Olivia Henley - For a great attitude and sustained effort and application throughout the course of the year.
The Gold Award for Effort in Humanities is:
Rio Gonzales - Rio has a natural enthusiasm to produce work to the best of her ability. She is a dedicated hard working student who has a determination to succeed. Her work ethos means all work is completed to the highest of standards showing just how much time and effort she invests in her studies.
The Gold Award for Effort in Sportswoman is:
Lauren Stenning - 100% effort in all lesson. Always strives to achieve her best in all areas of the P E curriculum. A natural leader who is always smiling come rain or shine.
The Gold Award for Effort in Languages is:
Hannah Burgess - Hannah is an inspiration for her peers. She has embraced a new language with enthusiasm and dedication. Coupled with her natural talent she has achieved over and above expectations.
The Gold Award for Effort in Science is:
Ashley Lunn - Always engaged within Science lessons and always puts in exceptional effort to her work. Always brings a smile and good scientific question.
A pleasure to have in classroom.
The Gold Award for Effort in IT is:
Natasha Slyfield - Natasha is a very hard working student, who, despite what else may be going on in the class, always works hard and always gives 110% effort. She is a real credit
The Gold Award for Effort in Maths is:
Nikita Hazelden - Nikita has concentrated and ensured that she has understood all the topics and concepts covered, always asking for further help when needed. This excellent sustained effort is showing an increased level of confidence and an excellent result in the first unit of her Maths GCSE.
The Gold Award for Effort in Sportsman is:
William Holmes - William always approaches PE with enthusiasm and a commitment to improve. He is involved in Sport both within the College and outside and plays rugby for a Club linked to the College. His commitment to sport has recently been demonstrated by his becoming a qualified rugby union referee.
GOLD AWARD FOR ACHIEVEMENT
The Gold Award for Achievement in Art is:
Chloe Pateman - Chloe has worked well beyond her target level this year. Through her sheer dedication and extra work out of class, Chloe has achieved some magnificent work in art.
The Gold Award for Achievement in English is:
Hannah Stranex - Hannah has a gift for English and continues to work ceaselessly to improve and gain even more insight into the huge complexities of language that we use and study every day. Her ability to read for multi-layered meaning and her talent for constructing stimulating texts in a variety of ,bodes very well for her continued success.
The Gold Award for Achievement in Performing Arts is:
Emma Dymott - Emma is an exceptionally talented young lady who has truly come into her own in the last year. Her performance of Sandy in this year's college production of 'Grease' was exquisite. She plays an active role in the performing arts within the College and has demonstrated her talent and passion for singing, dancing and acting. She has achieved so much in the last year and she is an asset to the performing arts at Kings College.
The Gold Award for Achievement in Technology is:
Harriet Cottrell - For working consistently hard to produce work of a very high standard throughout the year
The Gold Award for Achievement in Humanities is:
Lizzi Jordan - Lizzi has a natural gift within humanities subjects. This combined with her excellent work ethos means that she is consistently working at a much higher level than expected.
The Gold Award for Achievement in Sportswoman is:
Mollie Smith - Always willing to help out and organise the teams. Shows 100% commitment to PE throughout the year.
The Gold Award for Achievement in Languages is:
Althea Castaneda - Althea produces work to the best of her ability. She is a real credit to the College through effort, enthusiasm, maturity and exemplary behaviour. This has resulted in excellent academic progress and results in a very short time.
The Gold Award for Achievement in Science is:
Jack Spencer - Since joining the College at the beginning of the year, Jack has continued to, producing outstanding work within Science. Always engaged in lessons Jack has been a pleasure to teach. Keep up the great work.
The Gold Award for Achievement in IT is:
Timothee Vignati - Timothée joined Kings In January. Despite speaking little English, Timothee has overcome this and has caught up with the rest of the class due to his hard work and determination.
The Gold Award for Achievement in Maths is:
Ella Curtis - Ella produces outstanding work in maths, does everything to the best of her ability, has the potential to be an outstanding mathematician and inspires others to reach their full potential as well.
The Gold Award for Achievement in Sportsman is:
Michael Wicherek - Michael is an extremely talented sportsman, demonstrated by his selection to represent Surrey in cricket. He is able to select and apply complex skills in a range of activities. Michael also has a good ability to observe, analyse and improve performance and has an excellent understanding of the importance of health related fitness and how to prepare for physical activity.
The Gold Award for Achievement in RE is:
Jack Stokes - Jack has applied himself exceptionally to all areas of the RE course this year. He is able to understand and appreciate differing points of view even if they are contrary to his own opinion which has lead to fantastic grades in all assessments. Congratulations Jack, keep up the impressive work.
The Gold Inclusion Award goes to:
Karl Neave – The winner of the inclusion award 2011 is a fantastic student who is a real character! He is a hard working and conscientious young man who maintains a polite and friendly manner at all times. Often referred to by staff in the PDU as The Weatherman, due to his interest in all matters meteorological that he updates us on regularly. This student sets an excellent example to his peers on the benefits of healthy eating, choosing to eat salads every day (apart from Friday when it’s fish and chips!). This student is of course Karl Neave.
The Gold Community Award goes to:
Kryssa Boodram – For her contribution to the Kings College Community Kryssa has been involved in wider aspects in every department through enrichment activities and helping with community projects. She is a pleasure to work with as she works hard to understand others and works effectively with her peers
P&G Surrey Games have awarded—The Gatwick Airport Award—”Volunteer of the Games Award” to:
Kryssa Boodram — Being excellent all day and even though she had no previous experience was extremely helpful and efficient.
