Courses & Curriculum
Kings College follows the broad principles of the National Curriculum but offers many additional features. These include our focus on the Arts and Technology, our innovative use of OCR Nationals as well as GCSE post-14, and A levels, and BTEC courses at Post 16.
The Curriculum at Kings College is designed to be demanding, challenging, broad and balanced. Taught with an emphasis on active learning, problem-solving, development of interactive group work and the use of Information and Communications Technology across all subjects, it takes fully into account the requirements of the National Curriculum.

Some students study less Modern Languages and more English/Literacy in Key Stage 3 according to their particular needs.
At the end of Key Stage 3 students are assessed to measure the progress that they have made. This assessment is in the form of a teacher marked assessment. Students are also currently able to take GCSE Humanities and Core Science as well as elements of an IT Vocational qualification worth the equivalent of up to 4 GCSEs on completion.
