Kings College Sixth Form

Message from Alastair McKenzie, Principal

I am writing to inform you of our decision for Kings College to discontinue sixth form provision from May 2018.

Post-16 provision has seen significant changes to funding and we do not feel that we would be able to offer enough breadth of study for students, who deserve to be able to choose from a wide range of qualifications that will suit their individual needs.

As you are aware, Guildford and the wider area has an exceptional range of options available for post-16 education, with technical qualifications offered at Guildford College, Merrist Wood and Brooklands, and A levels and other equivalent qualifications available at George Abbot, Guildford County, Christ’s College, St Peter’s, Fullbrook School, Godalming College, Woking College and Farnham College.

We have supported our current Year 11s in choosing appropriate provision where they can continue to excel.

11-16 provision at Kings continues to go from strength to strength and re-focusing the community as Key Stage 3 and 4 specialists will only support this.

Should you wish to have your say on these changes, or have any individual questions regarding your child’s post-16 provision, please email

17th April 2018

To support students' preparation for internal exams, teachers have prepared documents to assist with revision.
